Since 1993, I have been providing psychotherapy and couples counseling in my office in Greenwich Village. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (New York State License R047079). I received a Masters in Social Work from New York University (1993) and certification in psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy from the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy (1997). During my graduate training, I worked for a year each at the Alcoholism Counsel of New York and Southbeach Psychiatric Center. I am also certified in EMDR: Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (2001), which can be helpful in working with traumatic memories.
In addition to my psychotherapy practice, I supervise therapists in training at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy and the Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis. I am on the faculty of both institutes.
I am also on the Advisory Board of Directors of MaleSurvivor: The National Organization against Male Sexual Victimization. Additionally, I was formerly on the Board of Directors of the Manhattan Institute for Psychoanalysis (2005-2012) and provided group supervision on sexual abuse issues to the clinical staff at the Callen-Lorde Community Health Center (2006-2011).
